Relationship of this project to the business environment:

This WI will provide the basic mechanisms and data structures for linguistic annotation and representation. Among other aspects, it should deal with the methods and principles for the design of an annotation scheme, the methods for specifying meta-models for various types of linguistic information and the crresponding data category registries. It should describe basic data structures which are generic to language engineering productions such as linking and pointing mechanisms, feature structures, meta-markup, " Stand-off " and " in-line " views, etc. as wellas generic administrative data categories.
